With Jacoby Ballard
This workshop will involve a philosophical and theoretical conversation about the effect of mindfulness on our nervous system, how the trauma of injustice lives in our body/heart/minds, and tools for the work we must do to evolve together as a society. Drawing upon his work in grassroots movements, prisons, schools, and recovery centers, with an anti-racist and feminist analysis, Jacoby will offer both scientific evidence and compelling stories toward the efficacy of these ancient tools for our modern concerns. We will explore tools, from philosophy to embodiment to better care for ourselves and work more effectively and collaboratively with others.
This workshop is the 1st in a series of 6 workshops offered in partnership with the Adhikara Yoga School. These workshops are open to the public and may be purchased separately or as a series. For more information about the Adhikara Yoga School, click here.
