February 23, March 2, 9 & 16
With Megan Bathory-Peeler
In visual art “negative space” is the space between, within and surrounding an object in an image, that often forms another image or symbol. The “positive space” is the focus of the image, the form of the object itself, but the space between, within and surrounding the object is just as important. Each space describes the other.
In Continuum, we look at both of these spaces as being full of potential, power and possibility. We call this Potent Space. During these winter months, we will learn to partner with the Potent Spaces within our bodies and access the Relational Space of Self that connects us to ourselves first then to others, the world around us, and out to the infinite for energy, support, and inspiration. In this time of extended separations, it is particularly important to lean into our relational spaces and listen deeply to the possibility that our shared voices can cross any distance or divide.
