Elli believes in the power of movement to help us reconnect to our deepest selves and to bring all beings closer to liberation. The word “yoga” roughly translates as “to yoke” or “tie together”. To Elli, this is the true purpose of yoga - to foster a deeper connection with oneself, with one’s community, and with the world. It is with this hope that Elli shares yoga and movement practices. Their classes combine wonder and appreciation for the histories and traditions of yoga, social-justice and trauma-informed grounding, and a belief in the power of play and curiosity to heal. They believe in sharing yoga from the idea that every person is their own best teacher, and that it is their job as a facilitator to help each person hear their own inner voice more clearly. Elli completed their 200hr teacher training at the Adhikara Yoga School with Jacoby Ballard and Molly Kitchen in the summer of 2018.
